Substitute Certificate

A complete application should include the following:

Application for Teaching Certificate- checked for Substitute only.

Attention- If you have answered "yes" to one or more of the questions on the Application for Teaching Certificate, please click on the following for further information Application Background Questions.

2. Submit a $50.00 money order or certified check made payable to ROE 17. ($30.00 application plus $20.00 to register your certificate in DeWitt, Livingston and McLean counties.)

3. Official transcripts in original sealed envelope showing a bachelor's degree. If you have an expired substitute certificate, it is not necessary to submit an official transcript again.

Attention - If you have a valid and current teaching certificate(s) listed below, you do not need to apply for a substitute certificate.

Early childhood (type 04)
Elementary (type 03)
Secondary (type 09)
Special (type 10)

Please submit your complete application and fees to ROE #17.
